چکیده

ZnS thin films have been deposited by thermal evaporation at various deposition rates. By controlling the deposition rate, the position of the maximum in the photoluminescence spectra could be easily tuned from 2.9 to 2.0 eV, which produced a corresponding change in the emission color. The optical and morphological characteristics of the ZnS thin films were measured. The photoluminescence spectra had broad peaks, suggesting a distribution of ZnS nanocrystallites dimensions. Nanocrystallites dimensions were in the range of 1 nm to 3 nm via TEM analyses. The changes in optical properties were potentially attributable to the lattice defects of ZnS crystals, including Schottky defects and the substation of sulfur atoms by oxygen atoms. The color of the resulting light emission was obtained by controlling the deposition rate of ZnS. Received on 20-03-2014 Accepted on 25-04-2014 Published on 25-06-2014

Sol–Gel and Thermally Evaporated Nanostructured Thin ZnO Films for Photocatalytic Degradation of Trichlorophenol

In the present work, thermal evaporation and sol-gel coating techniques were applied to fabricate nanostructured thin ZnO films. The phase structure and surface morphology of the obtained films were investigated by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The topography and 2D profile of the thin ZnO films prepared by both techniques were studied by optic...

Effects of Annealing and Thickness on the Structural and Optical Properties of Crystalline ZnS Thin Films Prepared by PVD Method

Zinc Sulfide (ZnS) thin films were deposited on glass substrates at the pressure of 10-6 mbar by thermal resistor evaporation technique. The effects of annealing on the structural, optical properties of ZnS films were studied. Crystalline ZnS films have been analyzed by X-ray diffraction. Only cubic phase with the preferred (111) plane was found in ZnS films. Optical characteristics were studie...

Temperature-dependent photoluminescence of cadmium-free Cu-Zn-In-S quantum dot thin films as temperature probes.

We reported temperature-dependent photoluminescence (PL) studies on Cu-Zn-In-S quantum dot (QD) thin films. In this paper, cadmium-free and luminescent Cu-Zn-In-S quantum dot thin films were in situ formed by thermal decomposition of molecular-based precursors in the open air, without need of the complicated quantum dot synthesis. Molecular-based precursor solutions were prepared by dissolving ...
